Donald B. Carey, 76, of rural Kingston, Illinois, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at his home. Born May 4, 1931, in DeKalb, he was the son of Marsdon and Elizabeth (Young) Carey. He married Pauline Mae Loptien on March 6, 1954, in Sycamore. He was a life-long farmer in the Mayfield township area and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Cindy (John) Baenziger of Kingston, Lori (Brian) Moeller of Clarendon Hills; four grandchildren, Matt and Eric Baenziger, Dan and Carey Moeller; three brothers, Rodman (Maxine) Carey of Aurora, Vernon ( Roxy) Carey of Kingston, Richard (Pat) Carey of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother, James Edward Carey.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 1st at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home with The Reverend Mary Gay McKinney officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore.
