Edith Mae Denby, 70, of Rockford, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. She was born on April 16, 1938 in Belvidere, Illinois to William and Dorothy Aves. She graduated from Kirkland High School. Edith married John E. Denby on July 5, 1959, at the Sycamore United Methodist Church. She was a partner in business for E & J Quality Marble in Rockford. She leaves behind her husband, John of Rockford; two brothers, Albert Aves of Kirkland, and Norman Aves of Creston; two aunts, Mabel Morse of Rockford, and Bernice Hopkins of Rockford; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Scoughton and Jeanne Whitesell, both of Kirkland; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Garbrell Parker of DeKalb. Edith was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Aves.
Per family request, there will be no services. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
