Janice Johnson, 76, of Fairdale died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at O.S.F. Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Born December 7, 1931, in Rockford, she was the daughter of Leverette and Marie Margaret (Kieckhaefer) Vivian. She married Lloyd Johnson on June 4, 1960, in Rockford. She formerly owned and operated Club 72 in Fairdale and later owned and operated Kirkland Quikstop Convenience Store in Kirkland.
She is survived by a son, Mike Miskimon of Fairdale; two sisters, Jean Kieckhaefer of Rockford, Patricia Jurgen of Puerto Rico; three grandchildren, Jerry, Christopher, and Ashley Ingle; five great-grandchildren, Riley, Allie, Leah, Levi, and Audry Ingle; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Fred Redmer.
She was a volunteer for the Rockford Rescue Mission and was a former member of the Kirkland Park Board.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19th at Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Morrell officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Roseland Cemetery near Fairdale.
