Marvin James Peplow, 76, a life-long resident of Sycamore, Illinois, died Saturday, November 24, 2007, at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center. Born June 8, 1931, in Sycamore, he was the son of Gustav and Elsie (Reynolds) Peplow. Marvin married Jean Lindahl on April 12, 1951, in Sycamore. He was a graduate of Sycamore High School Class of 1951. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was an active participant in reunions of the Service Company 44th Division. He retired from Ideal Industries after thirty years of service. He had numerous engineering responsibilities, including model shop supervisor and engineering liaison.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Peplow of Sycamore; one son, James (Arlene) Peplow; and a grandson, Michael Peplow, all of Savannah, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Marvin and his wife loved to travel, take countryside drives and walks, garden and lawn work, and snowmobile. He was an active sports fan. He was family oriented and participated in Scouting and Little League.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28th at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Avenue, in Sycamore with The Reverend Nancy Weingartner officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home.
