Mary Lee Rigby, 81, of Kirkland, Illinois, died Monday, February 25, 2008 at her home.Born July 26, 1926, she was the daughter of Manlas M. and Rachel (Friday) Barrier. She married William J. Rigby on April 22, 1967, in Patterson, New Jersey. She was formerly employed as an inspector for Presto Lock Co. in New Jersey and later worked as a receptionist in a doctor’s office. In Illinois, she was a nurse at Sycamore Hospital, Geneva Community Hospital, Family Service, and Home Health Care in DeKalb.
She is survived by her husband, William J. Rigby of Kirkland. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Wallace Fleshman. She was a former member of Canaan Baptist Church in Patterson and was president of the usher board and treasurer of the missionary board. She was a former member of the North Avenue Baptist Church in Sycamore and was treasurer of the pastor’s aid club. She was a member of Kirkland Chamber of Commerce and was a voting judge.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 29th at Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home with Pastor Carl L. M. Rasmussen officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery in Kirkland.
