Margaret J. Scherer, 84, of Genoa, Illinois, died Sunday, February 24, 2008, at Maple Crest Care Centre in Belvidere. She was born April 29, 1923 in Sycamore the daughter of Frank and Martha (Scherf) Blundy. She married Fred P. Scherer on February 26, 1942 in Genoa. Margaret was a homemaker and worked at Automatic Electric from 1940 to 1972. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden Agers Group and enjoyed sewing and crafts.
She is survived by four nieces, Marylyn Payton of Indianapolis, Indiana, Phyllis Goltermann of Belvidere, Bernice Luxnat of Davis, Doris Timmer of Wisconsin; three nephews, Robert Scherer of Genoa, Kenneth Holz of Marengo, John Doll of Marengo; several great nieces, nephews; great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and niece, Mabel Schultz.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 33930 North State Road, with The Reverend E. Timothy Frick officiating. Interment will be in Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere. A visitation will Be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the funeral service.
