Florence (Flossie) Sosin
85, Indianapolis, died April 30, 2008. Born in Hammond, Indiana, she was the daughter of Jacob and Jenny Barton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bernard Sosin. Surviving are her four sons Ted, Larry, Randy, and Howard; daughters-in-law Judy, Jean, Karen, Caroline; grandchildren Rachel Fox, Jeremy Sosin, Jennifer Sosin, Shannon Kaiser, Danielle Sosin, Anthony Sosin; great grandchildren, Jake, Eliana, Aliza, Benjamin, Laynee Sosin; Maya, Eli Fox; Kailyn, Chloe Kaiser; sister, Betty Gubitz; brother Harold Barton. She attended Indiana University and served as a volunteer for Hadassah and Temple Beth El in Hammond while she raised her four boys. In 1966, she and her husband moved to Sycamore, Illinois where they ran Sosin’s Fine Feminine Apparel for many years. Together, they continued to serve the community of Sycamore with civic and volunteer endeavors. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, May 9 at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Illinois Jewish Community Center Congregation Beth Shalom 820 Russell Rd, DeKalb, IL 60115.
