Helen Elizabeth "Liz" Stark, 85, of Genoa, Illinois, died Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich. Born June 15, 1922 in Sycamore, she was the daughter of George and Frida (Persson) Floit. She graduated from Sycamore High School in 1939 and then went to Business College in Chicago. She married Harmon Stark on November 21, 1944. She worked outside of the home most of her life. She worked for Nox-Rust Co. in Chicago, Interstate Aircraft in DeKalb, Anaconda Wire & Cable Co. in Sycamore, and Floit Sand & Gravel Co. in Sycamore.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Carolyn) Stark; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Stark, a grandson, Steven Stark all of Plano; two brothers, Clarence and Philip Floit both of Sycamore; two sisters-in-law, Betty Arneson of DeKalb, Helen Floit of Aurora; a brother-in-law, Arthur Metz of Richmond; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Frieda Stark; a sister, Vera Schlegle; two brothers, Harold and Roy Floit.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, 33930 North State Street Road, in Genoa.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 19th at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor E. Timothy Frick officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home in Genoa. Interment will be in Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
