Taylor Jackson Strickland, 61, of Sycamore, Illinois, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at his home. Born July 9, 1946, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was the son of Taylor and Martha J. (Canfield) Strickland. He married Denise Babinsky on September 6, 1980, at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Riverside. He graduated from George Williams College with a Bachelor of Science degree and Lewis University with a Master of Science degree. Jack was a police officer, trained at the Chicago Police Department Training Division. He worked for the Brookfield and Elgin Police Departments. He was a special agent for the North Central Narcotics Tack Force and was a Private Investigator and owner of TJI Corp. Jack worked as a special investigator for CNA Insurance, Zurich Insurance and West Bend Mutual Insurance Companies. And, was a Certified Fraud Specialist.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise Strickland; daughter, Kimberlee (boyfriend, Brandon More) Strickland of DeKalb; son, Ryan (girlfriend, Megan Curzon) Strickland of Sycamore; siblings, Howard (Roxane) Strickland, Kitty (Jack) Brown, Dave (Debbie) Strickland; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his pet dog, Sargie.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Christ Community Church, 1600 E. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb, with Pastor Larry Breeden officiating. The family will greet friends and family from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the T. J.
