Bradley Allan Taylor, 46, of rural Kirkland, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at O.S.F. Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Born June 19, 1961, in Sycamore, he was the son of Franklin and Helen (Schriver) Taylor. He married his high school sweetheart Mary Ellen Rich on October 11, 2003, at Taylor Lake in rural Kirkland. He was an engineer for Woodward Governor in Rockford and also farmed with his brother Ron in the Kirkland area.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Taylor of Kirkland; a stepson, Bryce Keilman of Atlanta, Georgia; a stepdaughter, Brittney Keilman of Kirkland; his mother, Helen Taylor of Kirkland; a brother, Ronald (Janet) Taylor of Kirkland; three sisters, Connie (Keith) Nelson of Roscoe, Bonnie Lorensen of Kirkland, Mary (Roger) Powell of Fairdale; his mother-in-law, Ruth Rich of Sycamore; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and cousin, Billy Taylor.

He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association. He was a former flat-track motorcycle racer who was recognized as being one of the top 100 racers in the nation. He was a devoted and loving family-man who also loved animals and special pets. He was a graduate of Hiawatha High School Class of 1979 and attended Kishwaukee Community College.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13th at the Kirkland United Methodist Church, 201 S. Fourth Street, with Pastor Michael Morrell officiating. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home.
