Eleanor E. Taylor, 91, of Esmond, Illinois died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at her home. She was born July 8, 1916 in DeKalb the daughter of George and Nellie (Rich) Lambert. She married Wayne Taylor on February 8, 1941 in DeKalb. Eleanor was a public school teacher in one room schools then a third grade teacher at Monroe Center School for several years. She was a member of the Esmond United Methodist Church, South Grove Extension Homemakers, DeKalb County Farm Bureau where she was active in the Prime Timers, she was active volunteer for the Kishwaukee Community Hospital Auxiliary, member of the Ogle County Teacher’s Association. She is a graduate of DeKalb High School, Northern Illinois Normal School, and later received a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane (Jack) Davis of Mackinaw; two sons, Paul (Barbara) Taylor of Esmond, Jerry (Kay) Taylor of Loves Park; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Crowell of Mt. Morris; two brothers, Milton (Lucille) Lambert of DeKalb, Walter (Jan) Lambert of DeKalb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne in 1983; one son, Lloyd Taylor; one sister, Mary Brooks.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Esmond United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ben Rocke officiating. Interment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home.
