Joseph A. Turek, 63, of Genoa, and formerly of Elgin and Carpentersville died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at his home. He was born August 26, 1944 in Berwyn the son of Louis and Margaret (Ruyicka) Turek. He married Hazel Spurr on April 23, 1966 in Chicago. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Teamster’s Union.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Turek of Genoa; children, Cathy Roberson of Fort Meyers, Florida, Timothy Roberson, Robin (Daniel) Buzinski of Belvidere, Theresa (Paul) Smith of Marengo, Edward (Kimberly) Turek of Belvidere, Christine (Curt) Wanke of Antioch; fifteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one brother, Louis Turek, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 28th at Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home, with The Reverend Daniel F. Diss officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Genoa. A memorial fund has been established in care of Cooper-Quiram Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., P.O. Box 251, Genoa, IL 60135.
