Gertrude Swanson Williams, 83, of Kirkland, Illinois, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at The Grand Victorian in Sycamore. Born January 1, 1925, she was the daughter of John and Lilly (Westlund) Forsberg. She married Carl G. Swanson on November 8, 1947, then Faye LeRoy Williams on September 27, 1975. She is survived by many friends and a loving family including her nieces, Beverly (Ben) Venegas of California, Leona Reid of Alabama, Bonnie (Bill) Dedeo of Wisconsin, Diane (Mark) Shields of Kingston; a nephew, David (Donna) Swanson of Byron; three step-children, Martha Rogers, Marjorie Perkins, and Leland Williams all of Missouri. She was preceded in death by two husbands; two sisters, Alice Pritzen, and Doris Britt.
She was a member of Flora Community Church and the Ladies Aid of the Church. She was a graduate of Kirkland High School Class of 1944.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25th at Flora Community Church with The Reverend Dr. Ronald Meyer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery in Kirkland.
