Ruth E. Norup Williams, 90, of DeKalb, Illinois, and formerly of St. Charles, Illinois, died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center in DeKalb.

Born January 12, 1917, in Chicago, she was the daughter of James H. and Anna C. (Sorenson) Jensen. She married Kernel Norup. She was an ordained Foursquare Pentecostal Minister who was trained by the world-famous evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson, founder of the Church of the Foursquare Gospel. She and her husband, Kernel Norup continued ministry by starting many churches throughout the United States.

She is survived by one daughter, Bernice Kay (Arthur) Ott of Joplin, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jim (Sue) Webb, Jr. of St. Charles, Elyece Miller-Webb of St. Charles, Lance (Karen) Webb of Sycamore; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1962, and brother, Arthur Jensen. She was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in DeKalb.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26th at DeKalb Foursquare Gospel Church, 210 Grove Street, with The Reverend Dennis Campbell officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. A memorial fund has been established for Senior Ministries Program and the sewing group at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center in care of Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL 60178.
